Damaged Aspire V3-571

My granddaughter who lives with us, bought, with her own money, the ACER Aspire V3-571 in July of this year, manufactured in May 2013.  Two weeks ago, she knocked it off her bed and damaged the display, and it will not boot now.  I know that ASUS (not a typo),  has a one year damage repair policy, as I personally have used it, as long as the laptop has been registered after purchase.  My laptop was repaired free of charge this once under their policy.

Does ACER have a similar policy????   Trying to find contact information on the Canadian web site is near impossible just to ask someone this question.  IF they do do not have a similar policy, is there a trade-in policy with a new, but damaged laptop for a replacement ???

Thanking any that respond to this request.

Bill, I'm sorry that this happened to your granddaughter. I would take the laptop back to the store you bought it from and explain what happened. They will be able to explain  the warranty conditions for you.

Vince53, thank you for your response.  We did take it back to our store, Best Buy, and there was a shrug, and could not or would not reply to any repair policy, and suggested contact ACER directlly.  Thus far the only response I have had from ACER was to fill in an RMA form and send it in for repair/assessment.  I am reluctant to spend $40 - $50 to UPS the computer to ACER to have them tell me that it is scrap and needs to be replaced.  I am retired on a fixed income, and my granddaughter cannot afford to send and repair or replace.

Guess this a hard lesson learned, wish we had bought another ASUS which would be repaired under their one year Damage Repair Policy !!!!!
