Just wondering if anyone else has seen this one.
I am aware of the random power off issues, and the wifi issue, but I havent seen anyone report this one yet.

Acer sent me a "new" R7, to replace my R7 for a well known issue...(anyone wanna guess? Yep... WIFI problem)
Anyway, this one has problems much worse than the WIFI issue...

I plugged in my mouse (when I'm at a desk I always use a cordless mouse) and powered it on for the first time.
It came up with the usual setup stuff. I clicked next after confirming selection of the proper keyboard layout, language, etc..
One of the next screens asked a computer name... I start to type and realize the keyboard isnt doing anything. I reach for the touch pad and it doesnt work either. Grab my wireless mouse, and it works fine... strange.
Alt+F10 (enable/disable keyboard) does nothing. Also alt-F7 (touchpad toggle) does nothing. Keyboard backlight also will not come on with alt+F9.
Ok. Maybe it had something to do with the mouse... I unplug the mouse and still nothing. At this point, all I can do is power it down. I hit the power button and it goes to sleep. Hit it again and it wakes up to the same screen (computer name) with still no response from the keyboard....
OK, so I hold down the power button to force it to power down completely...
Close the screen, and wait a moment. Open the screen back up and power it back on. Boots to automatic recovery, but says there was a problem recovering... Gives me some different options.
Keyboard and touch pad were working now, but selecting any of the options results in failed restore, failed refresh, etc...
Getting frustrated, I move the screen forward (I hate using the touch pad) and I notice the backlight goes out on the keyboard... Try the keyboard and touch pad and they arent working again... move the screen slightly and they work again.

The keyboard and touch pad opperation are cutting in an out while moving the screen around. If you move it just right you can get them working, but its touch-and-go (no pun intended).

For one, I cant understand how there could be a short in the hinge that causes problems with the keyboard and touchpad. That circuitry doesnt seem like it would even run through the hinge.
Secondly, I cant understand why it refuses to boot... I have tried most all of the options available, and nothing has been able to repair the computer.

I went ahead and contacted acer again and they are sending yet another R7.
Apparently their QC is really bad! Anyone else have these sort of issues?

Hopefully the 3rd R7 is a charm.
