Acer T232HL Touch Monitor

First off, I've had nothing but problems with this monitor from day one.  I had it for a week and had to send it to repair center in TX.  It came back and still has bugs.

Does anyone know what the buttons on the side of the monitor do?  The display stops working intermittely and switches between DVI, HDMI.  I have no idea why it does that. It happens right in the middle of using it.  I'm thinking the buttons/adjustments on the side of the monitor have something to do with it, but can't find out what the buttons do?

I'm trying to avoid calling Acer, because I have trouble understanding what any of their represenatives are saying.  I's so frustrating.

Looking at the User's Guide, page EN-13 (14/23) I show the following:

    MENU, INPUT, AUTO, VOLUME, EMPOWERING

    INPUT Input Key
Use Input key to select from different video sources that may be connected to your monitor.
    (a) VGA input (b) DVI input (c) HDMI input
As you cycle through the sources you will see the following messages on right top side of screen to indicate currently selected input source. It may take 1 or 2 seconds for the image to appear.
    VGA or DVI or HDMI
If either VGA or DVI input is selected ,but the VGA and DVI cables are not connected, a floating dialog box indicates:
“No Cable Connect” or “No Signal”
