Network connection issues with E1-571. Please help!

Hey guys! New to the forum, have planned on joining up for like the last two months but my degree doesn't really allow free time. I'll keep it short and sweet since I've seen other posts related to this problem, but none of the solutions have worked.

I'm very much at the end of my tether over it. If I were home before Acer support closed I'd have had this machine sent to the dump by now; everything else is great, but the **bleep** network card!

Basically, the thing won't hold a network connection. I'll boot it up and it'll go from connected to limited to connected to limited and then stay there for hours. When I wake it up from sleep, hybrid shutdown, full shutdown, always the same thing. Occasionally, when it's been working properly for a few hours, it'll just drop connection and then do the same thing when I try to reconnect. It is nothing to do with the router side of things, it's been tested at the family home and my own place where I have total control (I didn't realise it was a laptop problem for the first month as I was still at the family home....and my dad's a bit of a moron when it comes to maintaining the house network). I've tried updating the drivers, deleting and replacing the drivers, restoring computer settings, disabling ethernet, pretty much whatever I've read suggested on here.

I'm using the standard Windows 8 that came with the machine, updated to 8.1 blue (which improved the situation a little, but not much), my LAN is Broadcom and my VGA Intel.

Please help! I am so sick of coming home and having to deal with this **bleep** thing. I get back 8-9pm and have to go to bed at midnight to wake up at 6, and all I want to bloody do in that between time is watch some tv on my laptop.

Thanks

Nathan

I've done some more forum trawling and come across wprad's post in the " acer aspire v5 wifi problems" thread. For lack of better options I've given it a go, let's see if it makes any difference.
