Resetting stuck at 81%

I had a start up issue and I was given the option to reset the laptop.   I tried options to keep my files.   It got stuck at 81% for long time before it said it failed to reset.   I tried the option to erase all files and same thing happened.

I contacted Acer tech online and he said I need to purchase a recovery disc for $19.95 that will take several days to receive, but since the acer one does not have a disc drive I need to ship it to the repair depot.

1) Isn't there an easier way to create a recovery media on USB without having to ship the netbook and not see it for several weeks, or

2) Isn't there an option to have acer ship a USB stick with recovery media for a product that does not come with a disc drive but only USB drives?

3) Or is there an option to order the eRecovery disc for $19.95 at http://store.acer.com/store/aceramer/en_US/eRecovery and convert that into a USB recovery somehow?

    Hi,

1). Since the computer is not booting to windows, we do not have an option to create the USB recovery media.

2). You can check the availability of USB recovery media from the Acer store: 1-800-910-2237, available from 8 AM to 5 PM CST ( Monday to Friday).

3). There is no way to covert the recovery CD to a USB recovery media.
