Acer AL2216W - no power?

Amongst my Acer products is an Acer AL2216W which for some reason is refusing to power up. Bearing in mind the already low, low cost of the product I don't think it's worth sending in for repair but I'd appreciate some suggestions as to why the power might not be working and if there is an easy fix I can use to get it functioning again.

This is the *only* Acer monitor I've *ever* had fail and if possible I'd like to make it work.

As far as I'm aware it's not been through a thunderstorm (i.e. zapped by a power surge), or been 'hit' in any way. To all intents and purposes it looks perfect... just won't light up. Smiley Very Happy

If this monitor has an adapter, check if it's getting warm when you connect it to the wall outlet. If possible, check if the adapter gives output voltage (use a volt meter to check it).

If the adapter is fine, follow the below steps.

Unplug the monitor from the computer, unplug all cables from the monitor.

press and hold the monitor power button for 15 seconds. Connect cables to the monitor, then connect it to the computer. Turn on the monitor and computer, check if it works. Check if the power light turns on.

If it does not work, contact Acer for further assistance.

Make sure the computer is working fine.
