Problem with re-installing printer

Recently I had dome problems with my ACER XC600. One day, I logged in to my desktop but I couldn't use my keyboard and mouse. I checked everything and finally the keyboard is working. The computer was up but hanged for an hour. Later, I found that the battery inside the mouse had melted. I replaced it and tried but it did not work too. I tried with another new battery and finally the mouse worked. The desktop remained hang and I had to do a hard reboot as the Ctrl+Alt+Del Keys do not work. When I switch on the computer, this error message came out "Acer computer error: Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete." After a few hours stucked with this, I did another hard reboot. This time, the computer did an auto re-install. I was given a choice to reinstall the windows drive or all the drives. I chose the Windows drives. When everything was up, I reinstalled all my programs but I couldn't install my printer as it comes under my previous user id. Whenever I tried to reinstall my printer, it said the printer is existing. However I am unable to print or scan as the printer appeared to be not connected.

Questions: How do I reinstall my printer drivers and remove the previous printer installation under the old userid which I cannot access already? Thanks in advance for assistance in the above issue.

I'm not understanding what occured with the system.

You should be able to install the printer for the system, or remove the old printer.  They should not be attached to a user profile.

Unfortunately, the only thing I could recommend would be to back up any pertinent data and restore the system back to factory settings and reinstall the additional hardware.
