if using the restore and retain user Data, and my hardirive was/is partitioned( operaing system on C, rest on D) , will the restore wipe the D drive clean ?? trying to retain photos,video etc..

 

system/virus? stops windows from full boot and Windows repair cannot fix, system restore says ther are no saved points( can swear there are ...)

    When you perform a recovery with the "Restore and retain user Data" option, the data from the hard drive will be saved into a folder and this data can be recovered once you done with the recovery. However, if you have partitioned or formatted the hard drive manually, you will not be able to recover this data.

     

    If the laptop is affected with viruses, you need to perform a full system recovery (without retaining the data). If you have any important files (pictures, videos etc) on this system, back them up, as the recovery will erase all these files.
