What exactly does the laptop limited warranty cover?

I think this is the right place. In June I bought a Acer Aspire V3-551G-X419 laptop from Newegg, along with the 1 year service net warrenty that was offered with it. About a month ago I turned it on after leaving it in closed and in sleep mode overnight, and the screen was broken(screen is now all white with some black stripes across it like a cracked screen does, except the screen doesn't have any cracks in it that I can feel). I feel like this is the manufacturers fault since nothing happened to it overnight that would cause this. I sent in a web repair request to Acer and got this response.

"We have received your request for repair, but unfortunately we’re unable to complete your request because physical damage is not covered under the standard manufacturer’s warranty."

I don't understand this, because I read the 1 year limited warrenty for laptops and the following made it sound like it does cover physical damage.

"1. Product Limited Warranty. Acer warrants that its Products will be free from defects in
materials and workmanship for the Limited Warranty Period."

So I am either misunderstanding this phrase, the limited warrenty is not the "standard manufacturer's warranty" listed above, or Acer denied the claim because they don't think it was caused by a manufacturers defect (which I
would find ridiculous, because the message they sent me does not indicate this at all)

I have also looked at the service net warrenty I got from Newegg with it and that plan says it doesn't start coverage until a year after the purchase date, but it also sounds like it covers physical damage. If the service plan
covers physical damage and the limited warrenty doesn't, does anybody know if I can use that plan early?

I am not sure how much advice I can get here, but I need help understanding exactly what my warrenty covers, and how likely it is I can get my problem covered under it. Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Here is the page for the warranty option "Protect It!" by Service Net offered by NewEgg:

    http://promotions.newegg.com/service_net/11-3420/index.html

Please note that this is not an Acer warranty and does not affect Acer's limited warranty for the system.

For service through that program, you would need to contact that company at the number they provided.

Acer's limited warranty does not cover physical damage to the system, as was stated.

Screens generally do not crack or break without some physical force applied to them.

It is possible that your screen is not broken, but that you are having a video issue.  If you have a picture of what is occuring, I would be happy to give you my opinion.
