Can this monitor be connected to HD Digital Cable Receiver (DVB-C) with a HDMI cable and display picture? 1080p, 1080i, 720p at 50 HZ.

I tried this with and older Asus LCD monitor and it didn't work. It showed me the message "Out Of Range".

Anyone tried this and suceeded or failed?

Thanks in advance. Help needed because I'm thinking of buying this monitor.

DVB-C is not an HDMI connection.  The signals are not the same.

You need a TV tuner to take that signal.

There is a HDMI out on the receiver, and HDMI in on monitor.

Do you remember the model of the old ASUS monitor? - how old are we talking? - did it have a HDMI input, or did you try to use an adapter of some configuration? ...might also help if we could get the make/model (or a picture of the back-panel) of the receiver.

Edit: I'd make absolutely sure that the S240HL you're getting definitely has a HDMI port - of all the variants I've seen after a quick search; one or two with only a VGA, a few more with only VGA and DVI, but most appear to have the HDMI as well...very odd.

I tried it with "old" Asus 192C 19 inch monitor. I doesn't have HDMI, It only has VGA and DVI. And I used this adapter
