A1-810 USB

Hi, I'm just getting to know my new A1-810 and I must say it's a pleasure.  Two questions about connecting via USB to computer.

1.  I'm using Windows XP and, while the tablet and its micro-sd show up in My Computer, they are not among the options for Safe Disconnection of hardware.  When I am finished transferring files between the tablet and the computer, what is the procedure for disconnecting?

2.  The tablet does not appear to be charging during the USB connection to the computer.  Is it supposed to?  Or does it only charge with the USB charger?

Thanks.

    1. They are mounted using a filesystem that doesn't do write cache, so you can just unplug them without a need for safe disconnect.

    2. It does not charge via USB. The voltages are different.
