WIN 7 eRecovery errors

I have a Win 7 Predator desktop, I7, 2 tb hd, 16 gig ram.  For over a year I haven't been able to upgrade software.  Windows Update would bomb out, iTunes, anti-virus, ....  Usually I'd get a 2203 error code - didn't have administrator rights.  I believe this started during a MS Office install.  Anyway, I tried various solutions - nothing helped except to give me more errors (but the computer itself ran fine).  Eventually I tried to use eRecovery to start over.  All went smooth except now when the system is restarting during the eRecovery install process, I get a "starting services" screen but then all of a sudden it tells me it has encountered an unexpected problem and I need to re-start the installation process.  When I do this It gets to the same point just to give me the same error.  I believe the very first time (and only then) the error message mentioned that my hardware wasn't compatible (I did add a second optical drive (blu-ray) and changed out the ram for greater storage) but I only got that message once.  I am now in a loop of re-starting and error.  What am I doing wrong?  Any suggestions?  I do have a windows backup on an external hard drive (now disconnected) but how do I install from that backup if I can't even get to Windows?  I'd rather finish the eRecovery process - any suggestions?  Should I try to disconnect the blu-ray drive?

Having similar issue. Have been trying for days to reboot my laptop but have not been able to thus far. How can I put my back up discs back on my computer if I cannot get my windows back. Have found out that the latest Windows updates that occured, came with a high price...system crash. So many people are going through this right now because of the Windows updates and "certain computers". I know for a fact that I have the right to contact tech support and get a factoy reboot but when I tried this the woman on the other end of the line, whose accent made it difficult to communicate, kept trying to sell me a $249.99 package to help avoid this in the future. Well that's all in good but what about now? As a consumer who has had my computer less than a year and already gone through this once before, it is very disheartening. And it couldn't have come at a worse time because all of my school assignments, and research, etc. are on my computer and back up discs but since I cannot get to it to turn it in today, two years of college just got flushed down the toilet. 1st the government is shutting down systematically and now this. Something needs to go right and fast. So please tell me that there is an answer, something I have missed. At this point almost any suggestion will do. I send this out into the void, hoping upon all hope that someone can give me an answer...preferably the right one for a change.
