I have downloaded the driver update package 3 times I have tried to install it with the dock attached and without the dock attached I have also left it to run overnight and the most the progress bar ever gets to is about 2-3%.

Also I am running the program with administrator privilages.

Can anyone help me to update my Tablet?

Yeh I did check that, sorry I didnt mention it before.

    all 3 are there.

so anyway I went ahead and and did a clean re-install and did not install anything at all just went straight to acer website and downloaded the driver package and extracted and run it like I had done multiple time before and this time it actually worked!! So there was something blocking it before. It is not an ideal solution and I hope I dont have to do this with every update.

    thnx for your time.

    cheers!!

Only thing I'd suggest is downloading it again and do not do anything else while it is downloading. Unfortunately Acer does not bother with providing a checksum to verify a download.

If you have an third party anti-virus (McAfee, Norton) it may need to be disabled while installing (mine is set to "paranoid" and have to turn down to install anything).

    Thnx for the reply.

    Sadly this did not work.

I downloaded the package again after i turned off Zonealarm and tried to install it again and still the same problem I tried again aslo with the dock attached and still would not install.

I then booted into safe mode and tried to install with and without the dock but still the same problem.

I am beyond frustrated with this problem. Man Frustrated

    If this helps,

When i close the setup and try to run it again I get an error message and a log the log says

    "E Unable to pre-install driver file: C:\"My Directory"\Others_Acer_2.12_W8x86_A\Driver_Acer_2.12_W8x86|MI|Drivers|MBI\MBI.inf - error code : 5

E Uninstalling drivers that were previously pre-installed by DriverPackagePreInstall...

    E Setup aborted!"

At this stage I am contemplating a factory restore incase a random program i have installed has created a problem...

That is one of the drivers that should be in the expanded zip - it should be in \Driver_Acer_2.12_W8x86\MI\Drivers\MBI.

There should be three files in the directory mbi.cat, .inf, and .sys. Are they there ?

Did you extract all of the files from the zip file to a directory first ?
