Unable to Install win7 64 bit on V3771G

I am using UEFI mode.

The Install DVD freezes on Windows 7 boot logo, and does not progress.

I am using latest 2.23 BIOS.

Anyone have any ideas on why this would occurr?

  • Ensure that you have disabled secure boot.

    Switch from UEFI to Legacy.

Before proceeding I would suggest you search for other posts on the subject - there are many excellent posts here.

    Hi,

Thanks for reply. I am attempting a dual boot.

I bought the laptop with Win8 Installed.

I purchased an SSD to install an old win7 64 bit disc into the second HD slot.

I HAVE to install in UEFI mode so the two O/S's can exist in boot manager.

I CAN install the disc in legacy mode, but then of course, there is no UEFI Partition on the disc to boot into, and have to change modes to Legacy, to boot into win7.

So, In summary, disc works fine in legacy mode.

Disc does not work in UEFI mode.

Idea is to over write existing Legacy install with UEFI, but can't get install to get me to the boot screen.

I have tried formatting the disc (SSD) so it is clean (secure erase) but still no joy.

The two O/S's seem to be able to co exist, but when I boot into win7, Disc check says there are problems with the other HD. (Which I suppose there could be).

I have searched the net for answers, but none seem to be specifically related to booting in UEFI mode.

Obviously the disc is ok, as it works in Legacy mode.
