I have a bit of an issue, I have an Acer AspireONE d255e MODEL pav70. I cannot remember my HDD password, and I do not know of a facility in my area to help me recover it. I am located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Please let me know of anyplace nearby that may be able to assist, at a reasonable price.

Thank you

The problem, Dizz, is that despite their claims, no company has a sure-fire way to get into your hard drive. The ones that work ALWAYS erase your hard drive, and then there is the problem of re-installing your OS when they've lost the drivers.

A good computer shop will be able to ship your rig to a reputable company.

After researching the subject, I wonder if the next-best solution isn't to buy an identical motherboard (which will have the BIOS chip soldered into place), and install your CPU, RAM, video card, etc., onto the new motherboard. If anyone has a pro or con on that idea, I'd like to hear it.

    hi...

If you have purchase the computer in US, the best option would be to send the computer directly to Acer repair center to clear the HDD password.
