Hard Drive failure

Gday

Aspire 5920G, I purchased this back in 2008, it has very little use, I use my desktop as my primary source, the laptop was bought for things like holidays, to stay in touch with family members (Skype), the odd web browse, and to upload any holiday pictures from my camera.  Total useage time if I am lucky 200 hours.

It has Vista Home Premium 32bit, pre installed, this laptop can handle Vista reasonably well for the amount of useage it gets.

I recently ran a chkdsk and it came up with 4 bad sectors, tried a repair, it was unsuccessful.  The laptop now keeps locking up, requiring a cold boot.

So I am looking at getting a new Hard Drive.  I have a concern that if I replace my Hard Drive I will lose the Auto Recovery.  Is there a way aound this?
