Hallo ! my acer suffer from the throttling when playing games like NFS most wanted or BF etc...... it reaches very fast 94°C(at GPU nvidia GT 730M) but CPU temperature is fine so throttling begin!!!! the fan speed at the first time but after that the speed decrease and it turn not at full speed(i think it depend on CPU temperatures wich is always at 80~85°C when playing and ignore GPU temp!!!!) so i tried everything to fix it.My nvidia driver are up todate,i don't have any problemes except this throttling!!!!! it could be a vbios problem or temperature setup throttling not working as well or i don't know??? i need really a solution and when i searched on the net i found that is a common problem with this model of acer laptops!! the model is acer aspire v3 571G i7 CPU and GT 730M GPU so please any help!!!!

    Hello,

Your laptop is a multimedia laptop, not a gaming one. The cooling system isn't designed to play heavy games on it.

First - you have to buy a cooling pad - look for something with high air flow (cfm).

Second - Adjust your game settings to low.

Third - Download MSI Afterburner and cap your games fps to 30.

Another option is to turn off the turbo boost Smiley Happy It helps a lot when dealing with high temperatures Smiley Happy

Any temperature higher than 80C can cause damage to your system. Smiley Happy

    Good luck Smiley Happy

Hallo ! thkx for help but is the GT 730M designed for multimidia!!!!!!!!! with all it capacity of 384 shaders and PCI-E 3.0 ,bus bandwith 28.8GB/s and 4GB Vram,DX 11 ?????????? i don't think so because i have another laptop with GT 525M 1GB and run better than this with all high games and without any problemes!!!!!!! so i'm not convenced that is designed to not Gaming stuff?

So is there any whay that i can adjust the fan speed manually from windows 8 or other softwares to set the FAN speed to it's 100% when playing because i found that it speed only at the beginnig of playing any games and few seconds the speed decrease!!!!! ..............

I don't say that the GPU isn't designed for gaming. I say that the laptop isn't designed for gaming.

Gaming laptops have better cooling system. They have separete fan on the gpu. In this rig the gpu cooling is left to a tiny copper pipe. If you don't believe me - open it and see Smiley Happy There is only 1 fan. And the bottom of the laptop has only a few holes to let air in. Smiley Happy

And I don't think that you can adjust the fan speed manually Smiley Happy You can only set the windows cooling policy to Active Smiley Happy But ofther programs like speef fan, msi afterburner etc fail to detect the fan Smiley Happy

I can recommend you this cooling pad - Deepcool Windpal - it's the one with highest cfm I've found Smiley Happy It decreases the temperature with ~15C Smiley Happy

You can change the termal paste with arctic silver to decrease the temperature with another 3-4C Smiley Happy But that's all you can do Smiley Happy

Borderlands 2 on low, 1280x800 (not even 1920x1080) with all these changes, fps capped at 30, turbo boost off - runs at 70-75C Smiley Happy

thkx again! i know that it has one fan !!!! but if when playing gammes the speed of the fan still at 100% the GPU temperature will sure decrease under the temp throttling!! but fan still not speeding after 3 to 10 second so the GPU reach that temp, i tried msi afterburn and many other programmes to detect the fan but without any results!!!!! i don't know why they field to detect it???? and also my laptop is new so no need to replace the termal past (1 mounth) !!!! really strange! my friend has the same laptop and suffer from the same probleme so it's a general probleme i think ..... hope that acer find a solution for this laptop and you can google it and see how many people have the same issue......

    I have v3 571g too, but it's with geforce 650m which is a little better than 730m + 4 cores i7 @ 3.4ghz Smiley Happy I tell you what I did.

It doesn't matter that it's new. There are different types of termal paste. They don't use high class for these builds. Arctic silver lowered the temperatures with 3-4-5C Smiley Happy

You don't have access to the fan. And the bios don't give you access to anything Smiley Happy

If the fan runs at 100% you'll have to change it every year.

Do you see a fps drop or something? Do you use vsync? If not - you should Smiley Happy Cap the fps to at least 60 if not 30... the display isn't showing more than 60 anyways.

I always cap the fps and I don't play anything without the cooling pad. You see that at 80C the keyboard starts burning your fingers Smiley Very Happy

hallo and thks for helping me,well how do i limit my FPS???? also my CPU is i7-3612qm 3.1GHZ turbo so it should have a good fan and termal paste.

for the FPS it drop down when only hit the temperature throttling else it work great!

And here is a link how to disable turbo boost. http://www.tautvidas.com/blog/2011/04/disabling-intel-turbo-boost/ Smiley Happy

This probably sounds bad to you, but... try it Smiley Happy You won't see any difference Smiley Happy The turbo boost turn on when you have even a minimal load on the cpu like 2-3%... and it rises the temperature Smiley Happy If you use the laptop only for games you need good gpu.. not cpu Smiley Happy With games you probably won't load it 100% Smiley Happy

btw you can use msi afterburner to show the gpu temperature inside your game (in one of the corners)... and it's core clock etc Smiley Happy
