disk fell into machine

Hi Everyone,

I am new here. I have an Acer EL1352 today I tried to install bluetooth software. I put the tiny little disk into the machine and the software installed but when I tried to get the disk out it fell into the machine, it's not a normal size disk but the drive seemed to have a space for a small disk. I can't see it, and I took the cover off the little tower but I can't see the disk to get it out. Now nothing will play, the drive opens and closes if that is a good sign but does anyone know how I can get the little disk out please.

thank you,

Joan

    Hi Joanelaine!

It sounds as if your Mini CD disk has somehow lodged inside of the actual CD drive & not inside of the tower. As far as I'm aware, the drive unit is sealed. You may have to repalce it with a new one. You can get these online from the likes of Ebuyer, Amazon etc.

If you're fairly technical, this is something you can do yourself easily. But if you're reluctant your local PC shop should supply one and fit it for a fee.

    Good Luck!

Thank you for responding. I took it to a technician and somehow he got the little disk out of the machine, don't know how but it's all good now. He didn't charge me as it only took less than a minute, wish I could have watched him but these tech guys like their little secrets.

    thanks again,

    Joan.
