Password corruption A210 Inconia

On my A210 I had it set up to encrypt data to a password. I only completely power it down about once a month. This has worked fine for sometime until this morning when it I tried to power it up after completely powering it down last night. It would not recognize the password.

I am absolutely certain that the password I entered (over and over) was correct. Finally, after several dozen attempts and a couple one minute timeouts, a message popped up saying it was restoring the kernel and then it proceeded to wipe all data and do a fresh start like the machine was reinitialized.

Has anyone else had problems with the password becoming corrupt? I'm very hesitant to put a password on it again because of this.
