Chromebook C7 Display Broken

Upon startup, my Chromebook decided to only display half the screen.  It is clear that the window is still functioning as my mouse is still functioning in "the dark side".  ACER customer service had me do a power drain and when that was ineffective, advised me to bring it in for service.  Why isn't this a warranty issue?  I have only had it 7 weeks and it has never even left my house.  Damage or improper use is definitely NOT the issue.  HELP?

As it is only one half of the screen, I'm not sure why it would not be a warranty issue.  Cracks or "inky blobs" on the screen would not be covered, but that does not seem to be what you are stating.

It does need to be seen by service.  I would suggest contacting your local service center again and setting it up for service.
