    Hi,

I have a similiar problem with the touchpad. It freaks out from time to time (reverted input, stuttering), it's crazy... not usable. On amazon.de (I am from germany) they report the same problem in the recessions. Too sad, price is really great and the rest of the tablet (except some w8 start problems - at least I hope this is only the start) is fine.

Acer is accepting defect devices and sends a new one - with the same defect. This is ridiculous... Acer, PLEASE solve the hardware issue with the pad - or software, whatever!!

I'm running in the same thing with the three CDs, none work. See the Bad Recovery Disks thread. The microsoft USB tool says it is invalid. Am ready to try a reset with a Microsoft Windows 8 image but waiting for a response from Acer (reported trouble yeasterday).

Think I know what is happening but need to verify. That said I like everything about the W510 and think it is a game changer: why put up with Android or iOS when you can have a full featured OS. I plug it into a keyboard, mouse, and 24" monitor and it does everything a desktop can including an input for a camera (been trying to get either Android or iOS to do that for almost a year.

For some reason when I put in a link it disappears from the post, at least I can't see it. Try http://community.acer.com/t5/Acer-Tablets/W510-Bad-recovery-disks/m-p/12007#U12007
