Acer V3-571G WiFi adapter fails when downloading

So since today, whenever I try and download something (specificly from Steam) my WiFi will lose connection and change to "Limited" in the networks list. Nothing else does this, I can watch YouTube, play online games and browse the net like normal, but if I unpause my Steam download my laptop will lose connection after a few minutes, disconnecting from the network and reconnecting will fix it for a few minutes and then it will disconnect again.

Fixes I have tried include: Restarting and applying updates, unticking the  "let this computer turn this off to save power" setting in the power management section of the adapter, installing the latest BIOS version from Acer's site. I have not yet tried installig the latest driver update however and I will try that now.

Has anyone else had this? And have you fixed it?

I'm running 64-bit Windows 8

EDIT: So it seems to have fixed itself. I tried to download the driver, internet lost connection, download failed, I went into Network and sharing center > Change Adapter settings, right clicked on the wireless adapter and clicked diagnose and it did its thing and now it's working fine o_O
