when booting up my netbook ,It goes to the acer screen then it clicks ,and gives an error message as follows

check cable connection! PXE-M0f: exiting intel PXE ROM.

No bootable device-- insert boot disk and press any key.

I have no back up disk or usb stick and no way of getting past this screen

Is it worth repairing or should i buy a new laptop.

That sounds like the hard disk is malfunclioning and it is trying to find a different device to boot from. I'd suggest opening the BIOS setup at boot and see if the hard drive is found. If not you may be able to R&R the drive (I am not camiliar with the 722).

Penfold, I'm afraid that Padgett is right, and you probably have a hard drive problem. Your computer is giving you every possible option in case it is something else, but it looks like your hard drive.

There is one small chance, if you can borrow a Windows DVD for your operating system. Before you get to the requirement for the key number, it will give you a chance to boot into Safe Mode. IF that is possible, run a deep scan with your anti-virus program.
