Very nice.... owning a V3-571G and not beeing able to use the Intel WIDI cause of the crappy Broadcom wifi adaptor.

How about that for a "high performance" laptop wich is "proffesionally tuned"...U can download the Intel WIDI drivers in the "Acer support" area, but not able to use it. u get a wifi adaptor of 3,- in your "proffesionally tuned" laptop.....

Last Acer ever!!!!!!!!

U must have windows 8, just go to menu and type widi u will see a widi program Open it and follow instructions, this works if you have Inel wifi adapter only not any other brand.

    Thanks

excactly. They put in a crappy broadcom adaptor. But hey, u can download the WIDI drivers from the supportpage, but u just haven't got any use for them, cause the wifiadaptor is not supported....And looking at the d/l page it's only broadcom or Atheros adaptors in the V3-571G.

Tried it all, got a SSD with w8, and see no WIDI, and the 500gb hd with w7, no WIDI.

Edit: And offcourse, tried to install the WIDI but get the report "this platform is not supported"....

this is the first time i hear that if you replace wifi card the system report that "this platform is not supported"

if you try to install a wifi software that is different than your wifi hardware, i think u should get " this platform is not supported" but if u replace ur wifi with an intel wifi card that support widi and install the software, you should be ok.

when  replacing wifi with intel wifi download the driver from intel, you don't have to get the driver from acer.

    good luck

I disnt put in a intel card... Acer provides us with software on the support/download page to use WIDI, but u can't use it, cause they build in a crappy broadcom adaptor.

u need an intel wifi card to use widi + u need another device also that should be attached to your TV.

If u have a broadcom wifi card that means u r stuck with it or u can replace it with Intel wifi card that is widi ready.

BTW, broadcom is a good wifi card  but for now All wifi cards except intel do not support widi and this pc do not supprt widi at all cause of the broadcom wifi card.
