Hi,
I own an M5811 desktop, which I purchased in 2010. The 1 TB Seagate Barracuda hard drive which came with the computer, died recently. It just makes clicking sounds and won't allow me to boot up. I have a complete back-up I had just made a week prior, so I am in pretty good shape. I have ordered a new 2 TB Western Digital Caviar Black hard drive from Amazon, which should be here in a week. Problem is, I don't have any recovery disks made. I can't access the broken hard drive to make any, now and certainly can't use the partition to reinstall Windows. My issue is that I am a Canadian and Acer doesn't believe that Canadians are people, too. So, they won't ship the recovery disks to Canada and the Acer Canada site doesn't even offer the recovery disks for sale. In the end, I could purchase disks at twice the cost from a UK re-supplier (3rd party) but, believe me, I have purchased desktops, laptops and netbooks all from Acer and have spent much money in the process. I am feeling that if Acer doesn't have any loyalty to me, because I am a Canadian...I will NEVER buy another Acer product. And I mean all the subsidiary companies that Acer owns as well. I am annoyed about this, actually.
So, I start off fine and then get annoyed. Can someone (is there anyone who works at Acer reading these posts?) help me to get the proper Windows eRecovery Disks and Drivers for my specific computer?
Thanks.
