Acer take note

After ruminating for nearly a year HP is now coming out of the closet with the ElitePad 900 tab. Clovertrail based all have 64GB of main memory so too little and too late since Bay Trail is almost here but makes a few fatal mistakes (like no HDMI or USB ports - have to buy adapter(s)).

It does have one really nice thing and why I mention it here, the H4J85UT#ABA Expansion Jacket. This is perfect for a truely mobile application: it can mount in a car or on a bike and you could snap the tab in or out as needed. Power, USB, HDMI can be permanently wired.

Aside: anyone know if the base connector would fit a W510 ?

One for each car and his and hers tabs. One at home and one at work. This is how I see the future. Of course to really work Acer, Samsung, Dell, HP, etc need to agree to standardise in a base connector like on the W510 so that a univeral dock, possibly one that can adjust to fit anything fron 7" to 11" tabs and a means to lock in place when leaving for a few minutes or with a parking valet.

Could involve a major automaker as well. Such a thought: standardization. And itmade the industrial revolution possible (Cadillac had a neat demo in 1908).
