Hi

I need some help with my trusted Acer AspireONE please.

I reinstalled windows7 using Acer's installed recovery program. Everything apeared to go well no error messages or anything but now when I try to boot up I get a screen saying "Setup is starting services".

Now I have a Windows message (Install Windows)

"Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation."

This happens whatever I do!

Help please.

Harry

Have you tried using f8 to see if safe mode will start ? If can't boot safe either you may be able use to get into Repair.

Thanks for that but f8 gives me the same result.  I can get to bios and thats my lot.

Harry, I would try Padgett's suggestion first. Try to get into Safe Mode and repair your OS.

Over the years, I have twice received a message similar to yours when upgrading my OS. In both cases, I simply began the installation all over again, and it worked both times.

Thanks both of you.  I fear its worse than that, I can't access the hard drive.

The f8 gives me the three safe mode options which ever one I try gets me to the same dead end.

Is there a way I could boot from USB or SD card?

Harry, I don't know if the other ways work, but you could take everything, including your re-installations disks, to a computer shop. They have ways of forcing their way into an OS and then repairing it. But since a new laptop will only cost you about $200, check their price first.

lol Too easy Vince besides I don't give up that easy.

I was able to get back to the setup by holding the ALT key and repeatedly hitting the F10 key.  If that hadn't of worked I was going to install Ubuntu Smiley Happy
