    Before I begin, I'd like to point out that you really should be asking Sony this. The projector and iPad are supposedly working fine, and as it seems to be an issue with the sound, Acer can't really help you - "Is the projector projecting? - If so, that's great...", would be all they would theoretically say. But I'll give it my best shot...

    So, this is the basic layout that you're trying to achieve as far as I can tell:

                                            /--(audio)--> Speakers

    iPad ----> Receiver/Amp ---<

                                            \--(video)--> Projector

    So, as I said, the Receiver is what you have to worry about - it's basically the CPU/Motherboard of a computer. Concerning the iPad, make sure that the HDMI is hooked up to an input (red); one of the four available (I'd choose BD or DVD).

    Next, with the projector, I'd use an HDMI cord (you'll likely have to buy one, 15-30ft. in length - the VGA that came with it is pretty much useless in this case). One end should go to the Receiver, as you need to hook it up to the output (green), while on the Projector you'll need to choose one of the two inputs (preferably 1).

    Lastly, make sure the speakers are hooked up correctly. If you have only two, make sure those two are properly entwined around the 'Front' nodes - any other speakers should be self-explanatory.

    Providing all that is accurate, now comes the fun part of troubleshooting. Make sure that all the powered equipment is properly set-up - make sure the Receiver's input is correct (BD or DVD - whichever you chose), the Projectors input is correct (presumably HDMI1), and for kicks-n-giggles, make sure the iPad isn't muted or particularly low volume (since sound seems to be the issue - shouldn't matter, though). Hope this helps...

    If all that fails, I'd read all the manuals, particularly the one for the Sony Receiver, as there may be something you'll have to set up unique to this system that I couldn't know about. And, as I said, contact Sony...
