Recovery discs not working

Talk about crappy discs. Tried cleaning them, nothing works. My first try at recovery.. system disc worked, disc 1 of recovery worked.. inserted disc 2.. nothing.. computer looked like it was trying to read it. CD door popped out and screen said insert disc 2.. tried about 3 more times.. gave up restarted..finally got 2nd CD to work.. made it through all 3 recovery discs.. got to last CD the language CD.. didn't work. Don't know why we need a language disc anyways. Turn off computer and try again.. system disc works, disc 1 worked.. but now disc 2 wont work.

Try using an external optical drive. It might be your optical drive thats reading intermittently. Alternatively, try to reload the OS with the combination of buttons:

• Plug in the AC adapter and battery.
• Turn the system on Immediately, press ALT on the keyboard and start tapping F10. Continue holding ALT and tapping F10 as the unit boots up.
• A screen stating "Starting Acer Erecovery" should appear. (Release ALT and stop tapping F10 at this point)
• There will be 3 options: 1. Restore system to factory default 2. Restore system from user backup 3.Exit

Does your machine boot into Windows? If it does, you can reload within windows using eRecovery Management.
