Acer Aspire V3-772G Crystal Eye webcam driver MISSING!

Hello community, so I bought an Acer V3-772G-9643 laptop but it came with no drivers installed for the webcam so it is not even usable, it simply says "camera not found" when i try to open the crystal eye application.

I've already tried looking up the acer drivers website for my model's webcam driver, but it doesn't exist. Device manager also doesn't show my webcam under imaging devices (it did show "HDwebcam" or something like that in the hidden devices and i tried uninstalling it to see if it'll fix anything, but it simply disappeared now). I've also tried to look up the driver in the acer recovery management program, but it's not there either.

The driver was pretty much non-existent in my laptop to begin with and I don't know where else to look for drivers, please help!

I'm running on windows 8 btw.

As there is no camera driver posted, the operating system should automatically install the driver for the webcam.

That it is not, and it is not finding the camera, indicates a possible hardware issue.

To be sure, please reload the system to factory defaults, just to eliminate any possible software problem.

If it continues to not see the webcam, it would be a hardware problem.  You would need to contact your local Acer service center for assistance.

I suggest you go to the support page and open a ticket. The Acer support download page does not list a driver for the v3-772G webcam. Tell then that and ask if another one will work. If you use chat, the script kiddie will not know, the key is to get it escalated but make it clear that the driver is not on the download page and have them look.

No, that is incorrect.  There will not be a driver posted.  All of the drivers for the system are posted.

    Please re-read my post above.

To make sure this is as clear as possible:

If you have a system with Windows 8 factory load, the Crystal Eye application is pre-loaded.

If you delete the Crystal Eye application it can be reloaded from the Windows Store.

If the hardware is not being seen at all, then you have a hardware problem and need to contact service.
