Evaluated products

The Acer store is really quite sparse on accessories and add-ons. There are a lot of things (adapters, GPS, receivers, cables, hubs, NAS) that can add usefulness to a tablet or netbook but are not listed in the store.

For example a logical use for a tablet is to read automobile error codes and parameters & what is needed costs less than $40 if you know where to look and what to look for.

Would it be possible to have a space for products that may have been evaluated either by Acer or members as useful for specific devices yet are not carried by the store (frankly I buy a lot from Amazon) or possibly user reviews.

A place for users rather than developers.

(over the weekend I spent a lot of time getting a Patriot Gauntlet wireless storage device to work with Android and Windows devices and some of the Microsoft error codes was interesting but essentially useless without more information.)

I realize this may be somewhat heretical to marketing but if the Acer site were to becone a pointer to other products sites so users start here then the people who now go to Amazon or one of the stores would connect to Acer first.

I don't think that this is going to happen.  Let's face it, the Acer store is there to sell chargers and batteries and not much else.  For them to do as you suggest they would have to invest time and capital, with little likelihood of a return.

    OK just an example:

A number of people have complaned about the W3 weak WiFi. When I take the RV camping often there will be an area WiFi that is somewhat weak. I use a USB EnGenius EUB9603H (High Power) "N" wireless receiver. Have had one for several years and last I looked they were under $30 at Amazon.

It does need a powered hub to work properly. This is 600MW and there are 1000mw and 2000mw devices available but since I  look for balanced RX and TX this is both useful and reliable. Where the W3 just gets my big N router at 2 bars, the EUB has all lit and finds six of my neighbors as well (and am not in an apartment).
