How use Seagate HDD 3T|ST ST3000 3TB Drive via eSATA Port with ACER Aspire X1301?

I'm trying to get my ACER Aspire X1301 to use the full 3TB of my Seagate drive, connected via the eSATA port and a BlacX External Hard Drive SATA Enclosure Docking Station.  Seagate says: "It sounds like that adapter may not support 4k sector or advanced format drives.  The reason this 3TB drive is showing up as 746GB's is because it's being treated like an old 512 sector drive."

So how can I get my X1301 to recognize this HDD properly?  Updated drivers?  Separate eSATA card in one of the slots?  What?  Please help.

Please be aware that we are unable to endorse or support third party hardware or software.

    Additional information on Advanced format:

Microsoft Advanced format (4K) disk compatibility update

Due to when the system shipped, I'm doubtful that we will be able to change the behavior.

What operating system and service pack do you have on the system?

Windows 7 64bit Service Pack 1.  If I can't somehow update the PC, can you think of any other way I can use the full 3TB capability of the drive with my PC?  Separate USB 3.0 enclosure and USB 3.0 card in the PC, for example?  Or is it hopeless with this PC?  Thanks so much for your help!

As you are already running Service Pack 1, I do not see any way to have the system recognize and use the 3TB drive.

As I stated above, I'm unable to support or endorse any third party software or hardware.  We are only able to support what we ship with the system.

The links I have provided above are the best that I can do with regard to this issue.

My apologies that I could not be of more assistance.
