Hello,

I have a Acer Aspire 5253 -bz400 and it won't start.

I removed the battery and press power for 30 sec, nothing.

I bought a new charger, nothing.

I bought a new DC jack, nothing.

I'm out of ideas.

I did notice on the new charger that it has a solid green light but when I connect it to the laptop it start to irregulary blink.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Tekluca, I advise you to take it to a repair shop. Your 2 1/2 year old rig is a nice computer for its price and is probably worth saving. My first guess is that your internal power supply has failed, and that's not too expensive to replace.

Your idea sounds good except I don't think there is such a thing as a internal power supply. If you could link me to such piece it would be great.

from what I saw inside the laptop there is a "AC DC POWER JACK CABLE HARNESS" like this one:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-ACER-ASPIRE-5336-2283-5336-2524-5253-BZ656-AC-DC-POWER-JACK-CABLE-HARNESS-/111072461126?pt=Laptop_Adapters_Chargers&hash=item19dc6f4146

that goes into the motherboard. I changed that piece but still have the same problem so I'm thinking I might need to replace the whole motherboard which might not be worth the price.

    what do you think Vince53?

Well, Tek, it's like this. Your rig currently sells for $360 (used) on e-bay. I would take it to a shop and see what they'll charge to fix it.
