I'm looking into buying the iconia w510 as its probably the only 10" tablet with a keyboard dock that doubles its battery life.  I work at a computer store and have played around with the tablet and I like it alot.  We have a sale going on the tablet but I don't want to buy it unless I can get the keyboard dock for productivity as it seems useless to me with out it..when I need to get actual work done.  I have been checking on the store periodically for the dock, but it seems like they are constantly out of stock on it.  Does anybody know when they migh thave it back in stock or if retailers are going to get it?

The US Acer store is still awaiting the first shipment of docks.  You can be assured that the dock will arrive within the next few weeks.

Can connect a real USB keyboard & mouse to the USB port (If doing more I'd suggest a powered hub) and a 1920x1080 monitor to the HDMI. This makes it as capable as any laptop and I'd just keep the power cord connected.

Hope they get a spare power supply and a car charger cord soon, those are the accessories I really need.

did you get a response on whether you can connect another keyboard to the W510 through USB?  Also, can you tell me what connection the dock is using?  I am trying to connect a USB keyboard and maybe need a converter?  thanks!

The w510 is just a pc, with a reaally nice touch interface thanks to win8, but it's still a pc so yes of course you can use another keyboard on the usb port.

As for the connector, I think it's a specific one designed by acer, I haven't seen it on other devices before. it's the same as the power connector.

Micro USB and Mini HDMI seem to be standard connectors, it is the mutifunction connector on the bottom that I have not seen before and need to obtain to build a mobile slot (is a 12v supply so a car charger should be easy). Think USB may be the same as used by Samsung phones but need a female USB on other end.

i have been using my dock for 6 weeks now.  it doesn't seam to operate longer than 1~2 hours before it needs recharging.  have done plenty of soaking, day long charges, power plan mods but still it leaves me a little dissappointed inbattery life.  it has difficulty just keeping the charge when not plugged in (less than 12 hours.
