SNID/Serial number not recognized

Hello,

Recently I had a problem with my Acer travel mate laptop where chariging port seems to have slipped inside and hence I could not charge my laptop. So I thought of calling the customer care number 1800*******, it goes to automated voice and asks for SNID/serial number. BUt sadly it is not recognizing either of them, I probably have tried 40-50 times. I tried entering my SNID and serial number in website, even there it is not recognizing. I bought this laptop in India, when I called Indian customer care they do recognize this laptop and said it has warranty until June 2014 and it is international warranty. I am in USA now and US customer center seem to not to recognize the number. Is there any way to talk to US customer folks ? I am tired of talking to automated voice and it saying sorry it did recognize.

Really acer sucks. Its been very frustrating, I am struggling just to talk to acer customer care people even after paying money for there extended warranty.

Regards,
Pavan

I can help you. Acer NEVER uses the letter "O" in its serial numbers or SNID numbers. Those are all zeroes. They're buried in with the letters, but they are When I found that out, I was easily able to register my Acer laptop.

Thanks for you reply. I did tried the digit zero but even then it is not recognizing. As said in my eartlier post Indian customer care guys recognize the serial number and they did told that laptop is under warranty until JUN 2014. But since I am in USA now, I have to call US customer care number and US customer care number's automated voice does not recognize the serial/snid number. How can I even get to speak to a customer care representative ?

Can any one please help me here. For me it seems like a clear case of Acer not honoring its warranty commitment. Since I am not able to talk to any of their human customer care representative on their support number, do they have any customer service centers in North Carolina where I can take my laptop in personnel and get it fixed or even talk to them.

Man, I'm sorry that using zeroes didn't help. Try going to http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/wheretobuy for a list of stores that sell Acer products. Use your phone book to contact them and see if they are Acer Service Centers as well.

Thanks Cory. I have sent you a PM with all details.

Now fixing the issue has become 2nd priority to me. My first priority now is to get to speak to some human from Acer. They just cant diver my calls to some automated machine which says it wont recognize the numbers. I have paid my hard earned money to buy this ridiculous laptop (On top of it I have an extended warranty !!) . Acer is obligated to talk/hear my problem.

Is there no way or place on this earth that I can talk to acer technician !?

    Regards,

    Pavan

Pavan, have you used my suggestion to contact an Acer Service Center near you?
