Hello everybody

When I turn on my computer I can see the blue LED light glowing. I hear fan working, i hear HDD, but the screen is completely black. I tried and connected my computer to outer monitor via VGA cable, but the result is the same.

I googled the situation and i see that it is quite common on these models. I also found couple DIY videos showing how to flash BIOS. The thing with flashing BIOS is that you have to rename the file downloadable on your site( BIOS for 5349 of course) But the package which i downloaded is not the same as one downloaded by those people doing DIY videos.

So when i rename the file and try to flash BIOS (Fn+ ESC key at startup) the blue LED light starts flashing, but still nothing changes on screen. Still completely black.

So what is your recommendation on resolving this matter? I cannot use the computer know and It"s my only one.

Using the Fn +Esc keys is when you crisis flash the BIOS.  If it is interrupted whilst working then you basically end up with a very expensive paperweight.  Crisis flash attempts should only be done by trained professionals.

First things first, remove the power and battery from your notebook.  Gain access to the RAM and remove one of the sticks.  Try powering up the notebook.  If this does not work then swap the sticks and try the other on its own.

You can also unplug unneccessary items to find whats stopping it from working, you could in theory remove the DVD drive, the HDD, USB extension board cable, basically most things plugged into the mainboard.

Almost any piece of hardware inside a notebook can cause power but no POST (or display). I have seen a touchpad cable cause no power, a keyboard to cause no POST, a wireless LAN card to cause no power, the list is endless Smiley Happy

The next step would be to crisis flash your notebook.  The crisis filename should end with .fd

If all the above does not give you a display when you power up then most likely you will need an Acer Repair Centre to fit a new mainboard.
