Aspire 7520 amber and yellow flashing.

As mentioned, the power button and led indicators are flashing these two colors.

Does this mean a battery problem, or overheating ?

It would not indicate overheating.

 

Does this occur when you remove the battery and power the system on AC only?

Thank you for the question. I pulled the battery out and have run the

unit on AC power since. It hasn't flashed the amber/yellow lights, so it

looks like a battery problem. The battery is the origami so it's probably

worn out.

 

This may be the answer to a strange boot up when the power button

is pressed. When it hasn't been run for a few days and I power up,

the POST will not begin. The unit stays at a sleep type mode until

I power down, then reboot. Once it reboots it will POST half way

through the Windows 7 cube windows icon, then blue screen !

 

I power down, reboot and then it will completely POST to

desktop and work fine. I've looked at the details of the blue screen

and it relates to a malfunction of the mini dump, but will try it in a

few days without the battery and just AC power to see what happens

and report the results. Should prove to be interesting.
