Extensa 5620 VGA not working on 50" TV

I've recently aquired an old  50" TV with VGA input.  My initial experience when I attached the cable from my laptop to the TV & the picture would display in a green hue.  So I thought my driver was outdated. I used the ATI VGA Driver v8.37 see if it would correct the issue.  After running it, I plug the cables in now the screen on my laptop goes black & the TV says no input dectected.

I unplug the cable from the laptop & the screen is still black, I can hear the video playing in the background but I can't get it to show. The only way to get the screen back is to do a hard boot of the system.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks in advance!

NOTE:  Running Windows 7

You say 'old' TV.  A lot of TVs require the input to be selected - cable, aerial,VGA etc. Have you selected VGA input on the TV?

    Hi Leho,

Yes, I had it working orginally but the picture had a green hue to it.  I thought my VGA drive was out-dated so I installed the ATI Driver.  After the update my screen goes black now Smiley Sad when I plug the cable to the port
