Aspire One Wireless problem

I replied to someones post and I should have made my own post.  So here it goes again.

I have an Acer AspireOne. I have had it for more than 5 years.  Wireless has always worked for me.  I am experiencing the same problems noted with the Acer Aspire E1 with Windows 8.  I can go to the library and connect to their WIFI, but ever since I got the new modem/wireless connection from Verizon it has not been working.  I called Verizon and they tried several times to fix this problem.  They concluded that it is an Acer problem.  They also said I would need to get a wireless adapter. My questions is if I can use it at the library why can I not use it at home? Is the wireless adapter my only option? Any suggestions?

My wireless says it is connected but does not allow me to connect to the internet.  I can only use the internet when I have the eternet plugged drirectly to my Aspire one.

If you are able to connect to the wireless LAN in the library, there is nothing wrong with the wireless LAN card.

It sounds very much like a configuration issue for your home router/network.

I would suggest removing any encryption and attempting to connect again.
