sandisk micro 32g sdhc is not recognized by my acer W510 tablet with 64g internal memory.  Can memory be expanded?  If so what needs to be done to get W510 to recognise the additional 32g.

Since I just put a SanDisk Ultra 64GB micro SDXC im my W510/32GB you should have no problem (as long as the chip is good, lots of "fake" ones around).

Did you need to format or do anything to it after you put it in the slot?  Did it show up as an additional disk drive with 64g under device manager?  I can not seem to find the additional 32g located anywhere on the tablet.  Can you tell me how you verified that it was on your tablet.

Showed up immediately as a drive in file exploder.

If not try opening Diskmgmt.msc (disk manager) and see if it reports a drive that is unformatted or offline. Disk 0 will be the SSD so it should show up as disk 1 or 2  if you are like me.

This is what an active 64GB microSD in an adapter looks like

Thanks for the help.  I had tried everything you said to no avail for 2 days.  I then left the micro sd in tablet overnight and yesterday morning when I turned it on it was recognized.  Something may be wierd with this tablet.  A few days ago it locked up on blue screen for about 8 hrs before it went dark.  I assumed it ran out of battery.  I could not turn it off or reset it.  I plugged it into the charger and turned it on and it has been ok since.
