W510 Wifi Adapter Suddenly Stopped Working

My wifi adapter on my W510 adapter suddenly stopped working. I just turned it on one day and notice the Wifi option is completely missing now under settings. Under device settings it shows the Broadcom adapter as "Device Cannot Start Code 10".

Still on regular Windows 8.

I uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers (official Acer driver package) , updated BIOS, scanned for viruses, scanned for corrupt files, system restored, etc but no go.

What else should I check? I really don't want to reformat if I don't have to because I have the 16GB version which requires quite a bit of work.

Is there a chance the Wifi Card itself is dead?

I saw that briefly on my W3 but uninstalled/reinstalled the driver & rebooted and everything came back.

Code 10 is usually two devices competing for the same resources. If you have anything connected to the USB or HDMI or Bluetooth try disconnecting then rebooting.

There is nothing attached to the tablet.

I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers multiple times, it actually worked on one attempt where the wifi adapter came back on and connected, however, it stopped working ten minutes later. Afterwards (now), it's not working again.

Have you added any peripherals or updated software since it was working ? It is probably some other device that is walking on the WiFi space.

I just did a full reformat and it started working at first, but now I'm having the same problem again.

The only thing I've connected is my USB adapter + flash drive.

I'm doing a system restore right now to before the Windows Update in case that's the problem.

If this does not fix it, I will probably have to contact Acer.

EDIT - Looks like it's going back.
