Iconia b1 bluetooth gps fail

I use the tablet for navigation purpose. The internally built gps receiver loses signal easily and thus I use an external bluetooth gps receiver. However, the app I use for providing the navigation software the gps data fails after a minute or so. The same arrangement works perfectly in my android phone and seems to also work on the tab if I connect the usb charger to it.

 

I checked all power saving options since I reasoned that while connected to charger there is no problem and hence it might be related to bluetooth power saving. I did not find any way to fix this.

 

Is there any way to fiz this? I wouldn't like to carry battery packs to keep gps going and seems it might be somehow software related.
