W700: HDMI to RJ45?

Guys, does anyone know if HDMI port could work with such net-adapter?

We don't have a RJ-45 port on our w700 so I was wondering if our tablet-pc is able to work with such adapters.

Cheers.

It sounds like the HDMI/Ethernet must connect to another HDMI/Ethernet deice which can act as a hub. To use a RJ-45 connector you need an USB device like a Importer520 USB 2.0 Ethernet 10/100 Network LAN RJ45 Adapter.

Thanks, I knew about those connector, just figuring out how to don't loose the only USB port we have (yes, of course an HUB could be a solution, but still another thing to carry on with you).

I didn't know very well HDMI connection type, thanks for explaining.

Well the W700 is too big to fit in a pocket anyway (why I bought a W3). There are some really small four port hubs but for a tablet I prefer something like the Targus PA055 which can be externally powered or the 7 port Gearhead UH7250 which comes with a power supply.

I have a W510 and a W3, neither of which provides a lot of power to the USB port so a powered hub is a good idea for a DVD player or an external hard drive (seems OK for a keyboard, mouse, and flash drive).

Of course I have a whole toolbox full of USB cables, adapters, card readers, and hubs.
