laptop crashing from ''overheat'' at 60-65 degrees already

Hello, i've been experiencing a problem with most likely my video card crashing insanely fast at quite low temperatures.

I have an acer Aspire 5951G ( Nvidea GT555M videocard )

I never had this before but it's been sticking around for quite a while now, I can only play the graphic-heavy games on Power Saver mode from battery, else it will just crash as soon as it reached a certain temperature. I know these cards should be able to handle alot more, cause when I just had this laptop it went near 90 degrees without problems, and now it crashes around 60-65 already.

So far I've tried the following (without succes);

- Reinstalled windows

- Blew some dust out what was inside (reduced temperature tho, but still crashed)

- Checked for the right drivers (and also tried with previous versions)

If I have any music on the moment it crashes it just sounds freaky like ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ with some changes in it. Sometimes it crashes making it instant unable to do anything, other times it crashes and goes as the ZZZ'ish and will recover itself after some time (like a minute) to then just crash into unable to do anything again short after unless I shut programs down again etc.

Edit: even when using integrated graphics, it manages to crash so not sure it's the video card, but I'm quite sure it has something to do with the temperature OR the communication between videocard and turbo or so.. anyway to be honest; I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO FIX THIS.. could something be broken or so?

So I'm kind of desperate, any help is appreciated, so please help me out here.

    It sounds like it overheated and caused damage. It may also be that the ram is overheating. Seen this before a few times. Blow out any air vents for both inlet and outlet and try reseating your ram (take it out and put it back in). It's possible that this issue will require repair, but it's worth a shot.

    Hey I have a AS8951G-9600 and boy am I having this problem, just started crashing. Took it in to have the diagnostic  test done and they said all hardware was good. Now it gets stuck in a loop on the reboot, computer says windows not compatable with this device.

    Well I'll start off by saying that in the future you should really create a new thread rather than just posting to an old one. By creating a new thread you're asking the whole Acer community, wheras by asking on this post you have effectively asked two people, one of which was asking the same question as you.

    It sounds like windows is corrupt. Try doing a recovery by shutting down the unit, holding down the ALT button throughout this process, turn the unit on and then tap F10 repetitively. This should let you reinstall Windows and eleminiate the issue.

    I've tried your idea and also a few others i've stumbled across but nothing seemed to fix it. Gues the only explanation for this is that something inside is probaly broken or malfunctioning. I found out that i still have about 1,5 month guarantee on my laptop so I'm sending it back in the next couple of days and hope they'll know how to repair it.

    Thanks for the help either way, very much appreciated.
