Acer C710-2847 Chromebook, Can the HDD be removed and replaced with a SSD?

Looking to see if I can replace the standard HDD with a SSD to improve battery life.  Has anyone done this, or know if it can be done? Thanks.

Physically it sould be possible. Weather the comptuer recognizes it or not, I'm not sure. Also you may loose the OS.

Should be able to back up the system to a USB stick through the OS and reinstall on a new drive.  I guess my question was more along the lines of your second part of the comment... if the OS would recognize the SSD.

    Thanks for your input.

It wouldn't be the OS recognizing the SSD, it would be the BIOS. That I have no experience with. You might want to talk to someone at Acer to see if they know.
