Window Apps do not load properly: Aspire S7

Hi,  I've tried looking on MS forums for solutions, but as I have my screen resolutions set high and the apps work on other windows 8 devices I own, I am starting to think there is a problem with the computer.

Several apps that need access to the internet will either not install, or they do install but never work past that point.  For example, Audible works fine on my phone but would not install for ages on the Acer and, now that it has, it just spins while it's 'loading.'  It is difficult to say what's going on, but it does not appear to be accessing the internet at all.  Just spins.

I now have a collection of apps, 10 or so, that do the same thing.  Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.  Restarting, does not help.  I've tried everything except a factory reset, which I do not want to do for the sake of 10 apps.

Has anyone else had this problem?  Is it the Acer?

if the 10 apps are associated with your Microsoft account you can just redownload them from Microsoft store
