Problems with eRecovery

I've got an Aspire 5753Z (Vista Home Premium) that has been trashed by a virus & rather than bang head against the wall repeatedly, I've decided to restore it to the factory settings, but something's not working.

I Open eRecovery management, chose restore, restore system to factory defaults, confirm, system reboots back to windows like usual!

I've tried the Alt F10 keys when booting up & nothing there, either.

Any suggestions?

    I have Acer Aspire 5250 laptop which is barely 2 years old.  System crashed, so I purchased restoration disks from Acer.  Warranty already expired.  Performed the process to restore the system 2 times.  Unfortunately nothing worked.  Now getting a screen with a mish mash of colors that look kinda like some sort of pixel *****.  Cant get it working.  Probably will be forced to take it to the Geek Squad or some other repair place to have it fixed.  Don't think I'll buy another Acer.
