I have an Acer Aspire E1-531 Notebook and it won't fully boot. It is fully charged. When I press the on button, the LED lights go and the fan starts running, after 2-3 seconds the fans stop and the LEDs stay on. There seems to be no activity at all, the monitor doesn't display anything and I hear no sounds. When I connect and disconnect the charger, it makes the sound charging sound and the orange LED lights up. When I insert a disc, it spins for a while and stops and still nothing. Please help me, what do I do?

Man I do not even know what to do! There were never signs that it would malfunction before. It works just fine, I switched it off normally and bam, outta no where, it just won't work! :-(

Does the system display anything on an external monitor?

Well no, I didn't try that..... But then when my laptop switches on normally, the fans run like forever, this time, they just stop!!!

You did not note anything about it being an intermittant issue.  The system DOES boot normally, if not every time?

I'm not sure what you mean, but from what I picked up from it, this is the first time this is happening and ever since that day it's been doing the same thing over and over again

OK, so it does NOT boot normally, which I had from, "my laptop switches on normally" above.

At this point, you'll want to connect an external monitor and see if you get any display there.

Oh ok, are there any other possible solutions you could suggest? In case that doesn't work?

If there's no display on an external monitor, you'll need to contact your local Acer service center for assistance.

Hmm, ok. Thanks, it's pretty disappointing because that is the best laptop ever, like I swear. I prefer that over Dell, Samsung, HP, Packard Bell, Asus, E-Machine I'm all about Acer Aspire :-D
