Camera

I have an Acer Aspire V5 with Windows 8, I've had the laptop for about half a year. About a couple of weeks ago, when trying to take a picture with the camera, it said "connect a camera". I would assume that the built in camera had disconnected... which I don't understand how that happened. I looked at the device manager and a imaging devices aren't even listed. Not sure what I did or what to do.

Sounds like you're right, the camera has disconnected. You can always try a recovery to see if there is some sort of windows issue that's stopping your camera from being recognized, but honestly you're likely looking at a detached camera cable. It's not ridiculously hard to reconnect if you're handy with that sort of thing, but if you've never disassembled a laptop before I would suggest trying a recovery and if it fails see a local tech. It's not worth 200-250 dollars to have Acer repair a camera out of warranty.
