The Iconia dual-screen notebook is not a system that Acer has qualified for Windows 8.

There are other sites and discussions which have had some success with getting Windows 8 to run on the system, but it does not appear to be quick or easy to do so.

We are unable to offer support or drivers for Windows 8 on this system.

    Acer-Tommy is incorrect.

It is extremely easy and quick to install Windows 8 on your Iconia 6120. And the Iconia 6120 WILL fully support all of the Windows 8 features.

You will NOT however, have the Iconia ring and other ACER software that was written specifically for the 6120.

You can dual-boot the system by creating a partition and installing Windows 8 on the new partition, or you can overwrite you Windows 7 Acer Iconia installation. A quick search on the Microsoft Answers website will tell you how to create the partition and install Windows 8.

Acer does not support Windows 8 on the Iconia 6120 and I have no clue why they are discouraging it because it only shows off the computer.

Some of the benefits of Windows 8 on the Iconia 6120 include quicker start-up time than with the Acer Windows 7 installation, more effecient use of power so the battery time is a bit longer, much more precision and responsiveness in touch....

If you have hardware issues after upgrading, ACER will require you to take the partition off (if that is how you install) and to completely restore to their Windows 7 version.

How about the keyboard? When I tried installing Windows 8 a few months back, I was stuck with the standard Windows 8 virtual keyboard that was quite inadequate. Can I get the Acer virtual keyboard back?

The Acer ring programs will not work and w\you will have an upside down, backwards touch experience. Apparently there are those who have hacked that and they work, but I don't know where to tell you to go for them. I generally turn off the lower monitor and have acquired a simple Logitech Windows 8 keyboard and it works flawlessly.

ACER had really really dropped the ball and thumbed their noses at their Iconia 6120 customers. In a few weeks, I will be acquiring a Surface and never think of Acer ever again,
